A Wish for Jannette

A Wish for Jannette

May you young word shaper,
Spin tight words to paper,
May you mold your desire
From the clay of your mind,
Bake every word to fire.
May you glaze round each line,
Kiln the smooth curve of rhyme;
May your still shapes inspire
Still other poems and song,
When all our time is gone
And death demands you come along.
